I can't agree with you about that the problem is too little spending. We're borrowing to spend. What will happen when no one wants to borrow us more money? A sound economy must be based on savings and production. Benjamin Franklin had it right: "a penny saved is a penny earned". Yet, all action from the world leaders seem to indicate that they believe you can earn money by spending it.

Hi, Peter,

I share your exasperation on the current state of the economy, but I think the stimulus is nonetheless an important measure. The problem is that we've gone from having the velocity of money being too high (people are spending their incomes too quickly), to having it suddenly and painfully be too low (people aren't spending *enough*.) Here in the U.S., we also need to pay some overdue attention to a crumbling infrastructure.

As far as Agile is concerned, I recently blogged on a related theme. The article I posted today suggests that one reason to prefer people over processes is because people are capable of learning, *and processes aren't* (at least, not without human intervention.)
